While overall crime rates have dropped slightly since last year, the “concrete jungle” is becoming a jungle-gym of gun violence.

The number of shooting victims is up 103% this year.

And with protests over police reform happening all over the country, the number is only expected to rise.

At least nine people were shot across New York City Wednesday and early Thursday, according to the NYPD via the New York Post.

Most recently, a 32-year-old man was shot in the right leg and left shoulder around 12:50 a.m. in Brownsville, according to police.

Around 12:15 a.m., another man walked into NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, including his chest, leg and arm, police said.

And three hours earlier, a 30-year-old man was shot during a squabble on the grounds of Cypress Hills Houses.

A total of six shootings with eight victims were reported Wednesday. Two homicides are included in that total.

Bertha Arriaga, a 43-year-old mom, was struck in the head by a stray bullet shot through her bedroom window.

And a 25-year-old man was killed, two others injured, in a drive-by shooting on West 16th street and Neptune Avenue in Coney Island.

The other victims are said to be in stable condition.

With this dramatic increase in gun violence facing the city, it is clear that something needs to be done.

But what?

And how long before it’s too late?

In a press conference last week, Mayor Bill de Blasio said that a plan is coming, according to WPIX News.

“The solution is to work with communities, and that’s what neighborhood policing is all about,” he said. “Over the next weeks, we’re going to be putting forward a number of very specific plans.”

Democrats always seem to have plans “in the works”… plans that never seem to materialize.

I would imagine defunding the police is in his plan. They already what was it, Cut $1billion from NYC police department? Cut $1Billion in police department then Police Department is forced to make cuts on staff and now we have 103% increase in shootings. Yet they still haven’t thought.. Hey I noticed after we cut $1b in budgets that we seen a 103% increase in shootings. Maybe that was a bad move. No they won’t say that. Instead as Democrats always do create a plan that continues to ruin the black community and I’ve had enough of their liberal bullshit!
