President Trump says Pelosi is the one who’s ‘crazy’ after she raises 25th Amendment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is at it again. And this time, she’s not messing around. The speaker teased a Friday announcement on using the 25th Amendment to strip Trump of his presidential powers in a continued attack on his mental stability.
But, as you would suspect, President Trump fired back.
“Crazy Nancy is the one who should be under observation,” he tweeted. “They don’t call her crazy for nothing!”
The House speaker teased using a provision of the 25th amendment against Trump during a Thursday morning press conference, according to the New York Post.
“Tomorrow. Come here tomorrow. We’re going to be talking about the 25th Amendment,” Pelosi said.
At the press conference, Pelosi questioned Trump’s mental well-being, citing his morning declaration that he’s a “perfect physical specimen” and “extremely young.”
“He’s a perfect physical specimen, did he say? Specimen, maybe I could agree with that. And young, he said he was young? His association from reality would be funny if it weren’t so deadly,” Pelosi continued.
The speaker spoke out Wednesday on the president’s use of the steroid dexamethasone, one of the treatments he’s been receiving to combat the coronavirus, and how it may be affecting his judgement, the Post reports.
Pelosi stayed fairly quiet on what exactly her Friday surprise will be, other than its regard to the 25th Amendment, which was ratified in 1967 and allows for the vice president to serve as “Acting President” under certain extreme circumstances.
Section 4 of the amendment allows the vice president and Cabinet to take power from the president without their consent, meaning that – if invoked – Pence would take the reins.
The amendment states:
“The Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by low provide must make a “written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”
But, even if a bill of this nature were to pass through the House, it would fail in the Republican-held Senate.
