President Biden, Beto, and Liberal Media Comments on Texas Opening Up Come Back to Bite Them
COVID Numbers Lowest Since Pandemic Began
When Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted the joyous news, “I just announced Texas is OPEN 100%. EVERYTHING. I also ended the statewide mask mandate” Beto O’Rourke called it “A death warrant for Texans.” Liberals and mainstream media were very much in O’Rourke’s camp; President Biden himself called it “Neanderthal thinking.”
The Washington Post’s editorial board said the Governor was “endangering the health of Texas and beyond” and “Mr. Abbott’s decision was “premature and reckless.” Joke’s on them as Texans are striving and thriving and enjoying freedom.
On Sunday Texas reported zero new COVID-19 deaths in the state and the lowest rates of new cases and hospitalizations in months. Governor Abbott tweeted Sunday evening, “Today Texas reported:
*0 Covid related deaths – the only time that’s happened since data was tracked in March 2020.
*the fewest Covid cases in over 13 months
*the lowest 7-day Covid positivity rate ever
*the lowest Covid hospitalizations in 11 months.
Thanks, Texans!”
The Twitterverse is not letting O’Rourke forget his blistering comments. “Just amazing work, beto” tweeted Becket Adams. The Daily Wire pointed out a “Swing and a miss” for Beto. “Will Beto ever get a win?” wrote Emily Zanotti. “Good call bruh” Tweeted Fox News’ Guy Benson.
In response to the news, a spokesperson for O’Rourke told Fox News in a statement Tuesday “more than 5,600 people have died since Abbott removed public health protections in Texas.” A vague statement, indeed.
“Abbott, meanwhile, is doubling down. The governor issued an executive order on Tuesday making it illegal for schools and governmental entities in the state to implement mask mandates” reports Fox News.
“Texans, not government, should decide their best health practices, which is why masks will not be mandated by public school districts or government entities” Abbott said Tuesday. “We can continue to mitigate COVID-19 while defending Texans’ liberty to choose whether or not they mask up” Abbott added.
