NY Governor Hochul Signs Ten-Bill Gun Control Package
On Monday, Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed a 10-bill package of gun laws after multiple recent mass shootings across the country. The package included a law raising the age to legally purchase a semiautomatic rifle from 18 to 21 – despite rifles being responsible for only 3% of murders and the vast majority of mass shootings being committed with handguns.
“Gun violence is an epidemic that is tearing our country apart. Thoughts and prayers won’t fix this, but taking strong action will,” Hochul said in a statement. “In New York, we’re taking bold steps to protect the people of our state. I am proud to sign a comprehensive bill package that prohibits the sale of semiautomatic weapons to people under 21, bans body armor sales outside of people in select professions, closes critical gun law loopholes and strengthens our Red Flag Law to keep guns away from dangerous people—new measures that I believe will save lives.”
“I am thankful to Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins, Speaker Heastie, and all our legislative partners for acting with the urgency and thoughtfulness that this issue demands,” she added. “While we are taking expedient action to enhance New York State’s nation-leading gun laws, we recognize that gun violence is a nationwide problem. I once again urge Congress to follow our lead and take immediate action to pass meaningful gun violence prevention measures. Lives depend on it.”
Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado (D) also released a statement calling for “common-sense” gun restrictions.
“There is a scourge of gun violence in our country due to the pervasiveness of illegal firearms. Year after year, our neighborhoods are flooded with illegal guns and ghost guns, tormenting families and law-abiding citizens every day, but yet the national response does not change,” Delgado said. “In New York, we just passed common-sense gun safety legislation and more kids will live to see their high school graduation because of it. In the fight to save lives, New York is leading the way.”
After Hochul announced the 10-bill package last week, the National Rifle Association released a statement slamming Democrats for “exploiting” the recent mass shootings.
“While exploiting tragedy to pass their gun ban agenda, they have completely turned their backs on New Yorkers. They have left thriving cities to decay. Even more incredible, there is not one, single school safety bill in the mix. That is disgraceful!” the statement said.

New Yorkers will be the guinea pigs. In a year or two, we’ll see if NY’s rates of gun violence are any lower than the rest of the country’s.

I’m sure all the criminals are worried. What a stupid reaction from a stupid woman. This solves nothing. Its an easy, lazy bandaid.

Does the “red flag” law include preventing gun purchases by people who have been on dangerous behavior altering drugs? Drugs like Prozac, Xanax, Ambien, Trazodone, Zoloft, Paxil, Ritalin, Luvox, Effexor, or Celexa? Of course not. Big Pharma makes a lot of money off those drugs–the drugs found in nearly every case of mass murders and suicides, especially younger murderers. Big Pharma funds a lot of campaigns, too. Cross them and you lose, or in some cases, expose them and die. John Noveske made that mistake. Big Pharma is part of the deep state.

In the meantime the leftist Dems policies are sending criminals the wrong message that there’s no consequences for their crimes and encourage more crimes!

Don’t let the facts get in your way.
None of this addresses the real issues: African American boys being raised by single moms, two long years of isolation and a refusal to act on the knowledge that someone (based on tweets, facebook posts or whatever) could become a danger to society. Moreover, by NOT addressing the violence of Antifa and BLM, the Left has encouraged them to even more violence. Two Antifa fanatics throw molotov cocktails on a police car and get their charges reduced to nothing more than a slap on the wrist and a wink wink but let one Conservative enter the Peoples’ House and he will be held without bond for two years awaiting trial.

Chicago has the strictest gun laws. Enough said.
