MUST WATCH! Terrell destroys liberal professor in heated Dr. Seuss debate: ‘You don’t speak for the black community’

For more than 20 years, March 2 has been celebrated as “Read Across America Day” in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, an author known and adored by millions.
But this year, his honorary birthday gift is having six of his books canceled by the liberal woke mob.
Leo Terrell appeared on Hannity Tuesday for a heated debate with liberal professor Dr. Omekongo Dibinga, and it’s a must watch.
“I support the decisions of a company making a decision on its own that it didn’t want to offend a group of people, so I’m all about supporting this,” Dibinga said.
The professor went on to list what he views as racism in Seuss’ books and declared the company was “making the right decision to respect how these people are viewed.”
Terrell went off, asking the professor to name one person harmed by the books.
“Those books are historical books. Those books talk about the weaknesses, the flaws in this country, and how this country has grown,” he said. “You name me one person, first and last name, who’s been harmed by any of these books. You cannot do it!”
“I can name the black community that has been harmed by these books,” Dibinga alleged.
This is where things get good.
“NO YOU DON’T!,” Terrell said. “Don’t say that! You do not represent the black community, you’re absolutely wrong. You do not represent the black community, you don’t represent me. For you to sit here and say that is a lie! You don’t speak for the black community. You are definitely a democratic talking point.”
“You can’t give me a name,” Terrell added. Stop spreading racism.”
Dibinga alleged that “The Sneetches,” one of Seuss’ books, is racist.
“You told Sean Hannity on the radio that your kids have those books, your kids have Dr. Seuss books. Why don’t you tell the audience your children have Dr. Seuss books so you’re a hypocrite. You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth,” Terrell fired back. “Show me the systemic discrimination.”

In a separate Fox News interview with Martha MacCallum, Terrell – a civil rights attorney and former school teacher – gave a more detailed perspective on the canceling of Dr. Seuss.
“The images reflect the time in which the books were written, in the 20s and 30s,” he said. “I was not offended by those pictures because it talks about the evolution of this country and how we are now. What those books reflected was a sign of the times. You cannot ignore history. You cannot eliminate history. There’s worse pictures than that. But taking in context, those that want to cancel these books, those that think these books are racist, show me the harm to victims today. They can’t,” he added.
“They use the argument of racism as a gimmick, a talking point to basically cancel people out,” he continued. “I think it’s wrong as a teacher, I think it’s wrong as a lawyer because unconstitutionally that is telling people that they can’t read certain books in libraries and if the government imposed these restrictions, it’s horrific. We cannot eliminate our history. Some history is bad but the majority is great. Both sides need to be taught.”
“When I taught, you talked about the context of how these books were written. Today that does not exist. It’s done with the movies like ‘Gone with the Wind’ and ‘The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.’ People are canceling things to set tone and basically hurt people economically, politically and socially. Cancel culture will backfire. It denies history.”
“I want to make it clear to all the viewers,” he said, “no person in American history is perfect, from George Washington to Abraham Lincoln. We don’t cancel. We need to embellish the good part, criticize the bad part, but grow and learn from it. I think that is something that we need to do and speak out about it.”

Saw you take down Dibinga on Hannity last night and loved every moment of it, Leo! I was cheering you on! I always enjoy your appearances on Hannity, but this one was GREAT!
Strange that Dibinga chose to call out “The Sneetches”….my thought is that story is ANTI-RACIST because it points out how wrong discrimination is. (Not to mention the star-on star-off machine guy who decides to hypes up the differences for gain)

Leo…I am one of your biggest fans. When you were still a ‘dem’, you were a cranky-faced mean looking miserable person. When I would see you on Hannity, I often muted those sessions because of your ranting. A while later, I had Hannity on but was reading something when I suddenly heard a familiar voice. This voice was speaking of goodness, fairness and extoling the efforts of our then Pres., Donald Trump. I couldn’t contain myself when I realized that voice was yours. Your handsome face was beaming! I love that your beliefs are from your core…and your words carry much weight and evidence. As far as this Dr. Seuss thing goes, it is all garbage. To believe that Dr. Seuss would offend anyone only applies to someone looking to be offended. We live in a ‘me too’ world and some people want in on the act. People generally read what interests them…or not. Censoring, banning, canceling is more reflective on the evil agenda of those wanting to do so. Reading a book doesn’t necessarily change a person’s view. It can offer another perspective. Shouldn’t we be diverse in our thinking and NOT narrowed minded by eliminating what some find as ‘offensive’? I am offended by the fact that these books in question have been canceled. Every school district across this country should be taking a stand and not be held under the thumb of people with a negative agenda. Love you, Leo! Great job. Keep smiling!

So many black elites as well as progressive white armchair liberal ‘ivy league’ professors want revisionist history: cancel American history and then superimpose a very edited, slanted, black racist interpretation of what they who like to propose happened, twisting all surrounding facts to supposedly support their revisionist thesis. The overall effect being black hatred is fueled as they arbitrarily and incorrectly blame white people for everything bad that’s ever happened in American culture and society.

Dear Leo,
My wife and I truly despised watching FOX TV when you were a Democratic talking head just a year ago; screaming and yelling the various Liberal mantra’s; you hurt our ears and but mostly our hearts. It was truly hard to listen to you call us racists, etc., something we have never been. Growing up in Virginia, I will never say I know what it is like to be Black; no white person does and if they do; they’re liars. I will also say that in the 60’s and 70’s it was not good. But in the 1980’s things started to change considerably, and continues to get better today. I will never say that things “are right”; there is still racism and it is sad, very sad that it still exists but as you say, “systemic racism” is just an out and out lie. Please know that you are now our hero and we cannot begin to imagine how difficult it is for you to stand up just a year later as a conservative fighting against your previous party of 60+ years. But, it’s easy to see that you are ready for a fight and to stand up for what you believe is the truth; we’re just glad to now see you on our side.

Amazing to me that the search is always on for an excuse to criticize anything in history that the left can spin. If they want to cancel some things that are really harmful to our society, let’s start with corruption in government, rap music, drug abuse, anti-police rhetoric, illegal immigration, government distrust of the wisdom of our citizens, etc, etc. Fools like this Dibinga are a dime-a-dozen and are just an orchestrate distraction from the discovery of the depth of socialists in Washington. Ignore them.

God bless you, Leo; you tell it like it is. God will continue to bless the people who tell the truth. I love history and I love learning more about the history of this country, good and bad. None of it can be cancelled. A lot of it was unfair. But we need to learn from it so we don’t make the same mistakes (unlike what Biden and cronies are doing now by taking us all backwards). We cannot undo what’s been done. Reparations wouldn’t accomplish a darn thing. And it’s only an issue if someone chooses to make it an issue.
