House Oversight Committee Chairman: Wednesday Will Be ‘Judgement Day’ For Biden In Hunter Investigation
During an interview on “Fox & Friends,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said that he will present evidence on the committee’s investigation into the Biden family’s international business dealings during a press conference on Wednesday.
“You can’t have a credible case against the president’s son and just indict him for not paying taxes for a couple of years,” Comer said. “This is an individual who probably could get indicted for money laundering, for possible racketeering, for not being a registered foreign agent, and the list goes on and on and on.”
“We hope the Justice Department will sit down tomorrow and watch our press conference and read our memo. We’re presenting a memo to the American people and the media… Really, see some names of some of these people in other countries that have been convicted in other countries of crimes. They were dealing with very bad actors in some very bad countries,” Comer said.
Comer’s comments come after he and Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) sent letters to the FBI last week demanding that the bureau produce an unclassified record of an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
“We believe the FBI possesses an unclassified internal document that includes very serious and detailed allegations implicating the current President of the United States. What we don’t know is what, if anything, the FBI has done to verify these claims or investigate further. The FBI’s recent history of botching politically charged investigations demands close congressional oversight,” Grassley said.
“The information provided by a whistleblower raises concerns that then-Vice President Biden allegedly engaged in a bribery scheme with a foreign national. The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself. Senator Grassley and I will seek the truth to ensure accountability for the American people,” Comer said.
