Hollywood Hypocrisy: Study Finds Black-Led Projects ‘Underfunded and Undervalued’
When it comes to diversity, inclusion and representation, Hollywood is far from where it needs to be.
Hollywood liberal elites want you to know that they are so supportive of Black Lives and equality they are willing to spend their own money bailing Black Lives Matter protestors out of jail. They aren’t, however, so concerned with equality when it comes to jobs in their own backyard.
Deadline reports, when it comes to diversity, inclusion and representation, Hollywood is far from where it needs to be, but we are seeing progress.” However, Deadline adds “there are many blind spots that have been overlooked” and if Hollywood doesn’t fix them, “the industry will have more problems than it can repair – one of the being the undervaluing of Black-led projects.”
In the C-suite leadership roles, Black professionals have extremely low representation. A recent study conducted by McKinsey & Company found that “87% of TV executives and 92% of film executives are white.” The film industry “remains disproportionately white, ranking last among industries and behind sectors such as energy and finance.”
The self-proclaimed liberally progressive TV and film industry are not so inclusive after all. If you think “certainly the executives hire minorities to practice what they preach,” think again. “Agents and executive staff at the industry’s top three talent agencies were about 90% white – and the partners at these agencies were 97% white.”
The research conducted found “Black-led projects have been consistently underfunded and undervalued” despite “evidence that is clear as day that they outperform other properties when it comes to a return on their investment.”
Data was based on more than 2,000 films and interviews with “dozens of industry professionals, including writers, directors, producers, agents, actors, and executives.” Revenues in the industry are nearly $150 billion per year. But, “Hollywood has the potential to gain an additional $10 billion in annual revenues…by addressing the racial inequities.”
“Black talent is underrepresented across the industry particularly in off-screen roles such as producer, director and writer” explains Deadline. “Looking at positions of creative control, the research shows that less than 6% of Hollywood films’ writers, directors, and producers are Black.”

Color only becomes an issue if you make it one, and the Left has chosen to politicize this, also. Disparity begins at home. When you have single parent homes, kids being left on their own, or rely on relatives to raise your kids, that’s where our society goes wrong. Don’t rely on schools to raise your kids. You brought them into this world and you are responsible for that life being here. Your responsibility doesn’t stop once that child is ejected from your body- it’s just beginning for the rest of the kid’s life. It’s a matter of choice and we need to all make good choices and follow God’s Word.

Pretty obvious its about money. Hollywood is nothing but a bastion of superficial blowhards. Everyone recognizes that they are the self-appointed “keepers” of socialism. I wonder what will happen to them if socialism becomes the norm and they are not exempt from socialist rule. Probably hear a lot of crying and screaming.

I’m not surprised at all that leftist Hollywood in truth undervalues Blacks. The left uses Blacks to vote for them. That is their only value as far as leftists are concerned. The Democrat leftists keep the Blacks voting for them by providing many free incentives. They also keep the Blacks from thinking for themselves and being successful on their own terms.The Blacks are kept suppressed by the left keeping them held down by poor education and few opportunities for lasting improvements in their neighborhoods snd in society in general. It is all done on purpose to keep a large part of their voting base. The left want the US overrun with illegal aliens for the same reason. The illegals will vote for them once the leftists provide them with free shelter, healthcare, Social Security etc. it’s a small price for leftists to pay to have their voter base. They will keep them on the government dole forever for this reason. They want their voters to be dependent on them. All is fine as long as the Blacks and Illegals stay in their place.This is what leftists do. They use people. They care about no one and nothing except their own power.
