Governor Abbott Shuts Down Entry Points At Southern Border

Published

on

On Thursday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott shut down six pots of entry along the state’s southern border with Mexico as illegal immigration levels continue to be at 20-year highs.

“The sheer negligence of the Biden Administration to do their job and secure the border is appalling. I have directed the Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to surge personnel and vehicles to shut down six points of entry along the southern border to stop these caravans from overrunning our state,” Abbott said in a statement Thursday.

Abbott said that U.S. Customs and Border Protection had asked Texas to close the ports of entry to help regain control over the border.

“Six hours after U.S. Customs and Border Protection requested help from Texas to close ports of entry and secure the border, the Biden Administration has now flip-flopped to a different strategy that abandons border security and instead makes it easier for people to cross illegally and for cartels to exploit the border,” Abbott said in a statement. “The Biden Administration is in complete disarray and is handling the border crisis as badly as the evacuation from Afghanistan. I have directed the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to maintain their presence at and around ports of entry to deter crossings.”

Abbott’s announcement came after to drone footage from Fox News showed that the number of migrants waiting for processing at an entry point in Del Rio, Texas, had doubled overnight from 4,200 to 8,000 people.

Illegal immigration levels broke a 20-year record in March and continued to rise every following month until peaking in July at 212,672 border encounters – the first-time encounters rose above 200,000 in 21 years. August was the second consecutive month with over 200,000 encounters, with agents encountering 208,887 migrants.

I’m hearing from personal sources that Florida, especially the Miami area, has tons of illegal immigrants from South America, Colombia and Venezuela, that are bypassing the legal route (Since Biden administration has put a 3 year hold on work visas) and are working now living and working illegally in Florida and of course other states as well. This is a free for all situation.

Why did Abbott wait this long to do something?…Did he forget all about State’s rights, and expect the Marxist democrats to “do something?”…I think it’s time for Col. West to become governor….
