DEVELOPING: BLM Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors Resigns Amid Controversy
Patrisse Cullors announced today that she is stepping down from the Black Lives Matter organization, which comes after she and the organization have faced intense criticism over violent riots that broke out across the U.S. last year, the group’s extreme ideas, and controversy over Cullors’ lavish lifestyle.
Cullors said that the constant drumbeat of criticism from detractors did not weigh into her decision to resign, stating “Those were right-wing attacks that tried to discredit my character, and I don’t operate off of what the right thinks about me.”
