Democrats Block Amendment Defunding Universities Discriminating Against Asian Americans
Senate Democrats blocked an amendment to the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act that would have stripped federal funding from universities discriminating against Asian Americans.
The amendment failed in a 49-48 vote, with all voting Republicans in favor and all voting Democrats against, it needed 60 votes to pass.

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and John Kennedy (R-LA), who co-sponsored the amendment, released a statement addressing its rejection by Democrats, pointing out how “Democrats are only paying lip service to fight discrimination against Asian Americans.”
“In an unbelievably cynical move, Senate Democrats blocked efforts to stop discrimination against Asian Americans in higher education, where racial bias has become all too common,” the Senators said. “This amendment would bar funds from institutions that discriminate against Asian American students.”
“Despite their calls to end racism, it is clear Democrats are only paying lip service to fighting discrimination against Asian Americans and will allow targeted discrimination against them to continue at America’s universities and colleges,” they added.
On the Senate floor, Cruz pointed out that the Department of Justice “was suing Yale for its discrimination against Asian Americans until the Biden administration dismissed that lawsuit.”
“My amendment, simply put, would prohibit institutions of higher education from receiving any federal funding if they have a policy or if they engage in discrimination against Asian-Americans during recruitment, review of applications or admissions,” he added.

Leo, if an employer forces a white person to attend a critical race theory class and is berated for their skin color and are force to agree hat they are recist simply becase they are white. When intimidated into appologizing for being white and having more previledge than non-white employees cause psycologicaol and phyical discomfort and pain and isoltion. Can that person file federal lawsuit for intentional infliction of harm through oper ating of a hostile worplace,

They can’t block federal funding because then the universities wouldn’t have funds to promote their leftist agendas. The Dems are so hypocritical it makes me physically ill. They are sooo out of touch with reality.
