When driving under the influence and getting pulled over by a cop, amongst all the dumb, drunk things that one could say, this Michigan lawmaker takes the cake. During his DUI arrest earlier this month, Democratic State Representative Jewell Jones boasted his power over the state police budget, authorities said.

Jones crashed his Chevy Tahoe, an SUV with the license plate “ELECTED” on April 6th. During the arrest, “Jones, 26, was shocked twice with a Taser and hit with pepper spray before he was handcuffed, state police said” reported by HumanEvents.com.

Jones had plenty of time to make threats and flaunt his relationship with Governor Gretchen Whitmer during the kerfuffle. Jones allegedly warned the officers their actions are “not going to be good for you…I run y’all budget, bro” the state police report states.

Also included in the police report Jones stated, “when I call Gretchen,” he’d need badge numbers for all of the state troopers and Fowlerville police officers on the scene. Allegedly when troopers threatened to hit Jones, he responded, “if you strike me, it’s going to be bad for you” and said, “I’ll call Governor Whitmer right now.”

Jones’ attorney, Ali Hammoud said his client “was fully cooperative” and claimed, “the officers decided to throw Representative Jones to the ground and three of them held him down, crushing him under their weight.”

“The officers also tased Representative Jones in his head, causing memory loss and leaving scars that are visible to this day” added the attorney. The police “used so much pepper spray on his face that his eyes still appear profoundly red and swollen” the lengthy statement claimed.
