In the wake of the Capitol riot, the House of Representatives is in the process of voting to impeach President Trump for the second time.
But, it’s not only democrats that are in support; five House republicans are on board and will vote “yea.”
Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL-16), Rep. John Katko (NY-24), Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, Rep. Jamie Herrera Beutler (WA-3) and Fred Upton (MI-6) will join their 218 democratic colleagues in the impeachment soiree, turning their backs on President Trump.
Katko was the first republican to come out for the impeachment, saying in a statement: “To allow the president of the United States to incite this attack without consequence is a direct threat to the future of our democracy. For that reason, I cannot sit by without taking action. I will vote to impeach the president.”

Following Katko, Cheney announced she will also vote to impeach the president.
“The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack,” she said. “Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President. I will vote to impeach the President.”

Rep. Herrera Beutler said the president “incited a riot to halt the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the next,” and that she “will vote to impeach him.”

Rep. Fred Upton shared a similar statement, saying Congress must hold him “to account and send a clear message that our country cannot and will not tolerate any effort by any president to impede the peaceful transfer of power from one president to the next.”

Rep. Adam Kinzinger also joined in.
“If these actions – the Article II branch inciting a deadly insurrection against the Article I branch – are not worthy of impeachment, then what is an impeachable offense? I will vote in favor of impeachment,” Kinzinger said in a statement.

Democrats in the House of Representatives introduced at least one article of impeachment against Trump on Monday, charging Trump with one article of “incitement of insurrection.”
The effort is being led by Democratic Reps. David Cicilline of Rhode Island, Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Ted Lieu of California, the Daily Caller reports.

There is a pro America agenda that Trump brought to the constituents, and the Swamp, the old “country club” GOP party of backroom deals. No way to conciliate both different directions.
