When Democrats don’t want to face consequences for their behavior, their favorite “go-to” tactic is cry racism. California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom blames racism, not his horrendous handling of the coronavirus pandemic, as the cause behind the effort to recall him. On Wednesday, the effort to recall Governor Newsom reportedly received over two million signatures in favor.
Though Newsom has said he plans to fight recall efforts, he says the motivation behind the movement stems from racism. Speak to “The View” on Tuesday, Newsom said “it has to do with immigration. The browning of California.”
Newsom started his own campaign in response, called “Stop the Republican Recall.” In his campaign, his rhetoric gets even more desperate, arguing those backing the effort against him are anti-vaxers against the coronavirus vaccine, Q-Anon theorists, and the ultimate favorite, Trump supporters.
But it is Newsom that consistently mentions race. In an interview with MSNBC, Newsom said he had “multiples names in mind” of Black women to replace California Senator Dianne Feinstein if she resigns, in order to fill the vacancy of now vice-president Kamala Harris.
Suddenly the governor is concerned about the representation of Black women in leadership roles? Don’t be fooled. When Newsom actually had the chance to fill the seat vacated by Kamala Harris, he chose former California Secretary of State Alex Padilla. Although Padilla Latino, Newsom had been under intense pressure to fill her seat with a Black woman.
Democratic Senator Feinstein is the oldest sitting U.S. senator and says she has no plans to resign with four years left in her term. Feinstein has served as the United States Senator from California since 1992 and is 87 years old. Newsom said his mention of placing a Black woman in Feinstein’s seat was just “hypothetical” and hopes Feinstein completes her term.

Gavin Newsom is an awesome guy, he runs California like a champ. A bunch of anti-immigrants Trump supporters trying to unseat him. They failed to stop Biden and will fail to recall the handsome man of California Gavin the Great!

That’s really not the case at all. Newsome has repeatedly RAPED Californians with extreme taxes and policies. FFS, Elin Musk moved his company out of Valid because of burdensome regulations and taxes. Millions have fled the oppressive regime to places that value and honor civil rights and freedoms.

That’s rich. A white male millionaire who is a member of one of the leading families in California is crying racism. As an African-American male, I am offended. Two million people think Newsome is doing a poor job. His ethnicity is irrelevant.
