Beto O’Rourke Interrupts Greg Abbott Press Conference On Texas Shooting

Published

on

Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke, a Democrat candidate for Texas governor, interrupted a press conference led by Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) and needed to be escorted out by law enforcement as Abbott mourned the deaths of nearly two dozen children and teachers who were killed by a school shooter the day before.

Abbott began the press conference by detailing what was known about the shooter who opened fire at Robb Elementary and killed at least 19 children and 2 teachers before being killed by law enforcement.

O’Rourke then approached the stage where Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Sen. Ted Cruz and others were standing.

“The time to stop the next shooting is right now and you are doing nothing. You are offering us nothing,” O’Rourke said. “This is totally predictable when you choose not to do anything.”

Cruz told O’Rourke to “sit down and don’t play this stuff.”

“Please get his a** outta here,” a man on stage told law enforcement.

“Sir, you are out of line. Please leave this auditorium” a man yelled to O’Rourke. “I can’t believe. You’re a sick son of a b****, you would come to a deal like this to make a political issue.”

O’Rourke continued to yell back at those on the stage and was forced to be escorted out by law enforcement.

“There are family members crying as we speak. There are family members whose hearts are broken. There’s no words that anybody shouting can come up here and do anything to heal those broken hearts. Every Texan, every American has a responsibility,” Abbott said after O’Rourke’s interruption. “We need to focus not on ourselves and our agendas, we need to focus on the healing and hope that we can provide to those who have suffered unconscionable damage to their lives and loss of lives.”

“Some physical wounds that were sustained by the officers, they’re going to heal in the coming days. The mental and emotional wounds are far harder to see, and last far longer. The state of Texas working with federal and local officials in agencies, we’re going to be here for a long, long time,” Abbott added. “And one key point that we will focus on is making sure that everybody in this community has the access they need – for as long as they need it – to address the mental and emotional healthcare needs that they have.”

I knew months ago that there would be more school shootings orchestrated by the Left so they can go forward with their agenda to confiscate our guns! Just how much longer do we have to tolerate this corrupt Government and its employees, that our taxpayer monies pay for?
Prayers to the families of those affected and to the community! May God comfort you!

typical ignorant dem! this guy is blaming Abbot when he should be blaming his own party. they spew hatred and it stirs up people esp the young. you have critical race theory pitting black and whites against each other, you have whites being called white supremist, you have illegals coming in the country bringing crime, disease, drugs, rapists. it’s works on people esp thos who are unsable to begin with.

Beto is way out of his league. He needs to go and, hopefully, take the rest of his cohorts – all of them – with him!

As we have now learned, nearly all of what Abbott and others on the stage reported about the incident was untrue. There was no interaction with the resource officer before he entered the building- in fact, there was no resource officer present at the school at all! The families of these murdered children were being unashamedly lied to – some had been at the school begging officers to enter or let them do it. The sanctimonious attitude of the group on stage was revolting. Beto was the only truth teller there! Abbott’s grave concern about the lack of mental health wasn’t apparent when just months earlier he slashed the budget for mental health services. I sincerely hope that there will be a reckoning for this mendacity and I will continue to pray for the families and victims of this preventable abomination.

Not a smart move for Beto, but Abbott’s history with regard to
intelligent gun regulation makes anything he says about mass shootings suspect, in the least. His comments, none of which implicated irresponsible gun laws and enforcement in the Uvalde massacre, were no less political than Beto’s comments.
