Beto O’Rourke Flips On Gun Rights Again, Now Supports Confiscating AR-15s
Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke, a Democrat candidate for Texas governor, has changed positions again on gun rights, saying on the campaign trail that Americans who own AR-15s and AK-47s should not “be able to keep them.”
O’Rourke made the comments while speaking to veterans during a town hall in San Angelo.
“My kids are my conscience. And I may win or lose this race, but I’m always going to have to face them and answer for what I’ve done or failed to do when I had the chance to do something,” he said. “And I just took the position that may not be politically popular or maybe too honest that not only should no one be able to purchase an AR-15 or an AK-47, because they’re designed to kill humans and that high-impact, high-velocity round will just tear up everything inside you. You’ll bleed out before we can get you back to life.”
“But I don’t think that the people who have them right now in civilian use should be able to keep them,” he added.
O’Rourke’s comments come just a few months after he said he was “not interested in taking anything from anyone” after being asked about his failed 2020 presidential campaign during which he repeatedly stated his intention to confiscate AR-15s from Americans.
“I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone. What I want to make sure that we do is defend the Second Amendment. I want to make sure that we protect our fellow Texans far better than we’re doing right now,” O’Rourke said in November 2021, early in his campaign for governor of Texas.
Last week, O’Rourke interrupted a press conference being held by Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) and had to be escorted out by law enforcement as Abbott mourned the deaths of 19 children and 2 teachers who were killed by a school shooter in Uvalde, Texas, the day before.

Well then you’re going to have to tell them that you supported taking the responsible law abiding citizens right to protect themselves and others away from them by taking their firearms and leaving the kids as sitting ducks for the sick criminals who WILL NEVER abide by ANY gun ban you support. Remember these cops had stand-down orders that let this maniac have free reign for an hour in that classroom. An armed and trained teacher or two could have ended it.
So let me be the first to thank you for letting America know that you support the murder of innocent defenseless children because you support leaving the field wide open for the criminals to kill at will with no chance of being stopped by a GOOD GUY or GAL with a firearm. What a doofus!

All guns have one of two purposes, to either hunt or to kill humans. Anyone who enters political office takes an oath to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States. Any deviation from that oath should be grounds for impeachment.
