It is expected that former President Bill Clinton is about to be revealed as “John Doe 36” on the list of names related to Epstein that come from court documents related to a 2015 lawsuit by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre, according to a new report. Additionally, Clinton’s name is mentioned more than 50 times in court documents — some of which are redacted. The report notes some of the mentions of his name in the documents are related to Giuffre’s effort to compel Clinton to testify against Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Roughly 170 names are expected to come out in addition to Clinton, and they include more Epstein associates, alleged perpetrators, alleged co-conspirators, alleged victims, witnesses, and former Epstein employees.
Giuffre was never able to get Clinton in to testify under oath about whether he was on the island and Maxwell has denied his visit to the island. However, flight logs revealed that Clinton had flown 26 times on Epstein’s plane; Clinton himself claimed he had only taken four trips. But the logs that have been revealed so far don’t show that he’d been on the island, although Clinton’s former body man, Doug Band, claimed that Clinton had been on the island. Epstein also visited the Clinton White House at least 17 times, and Ghislaine Maxwell attended Chelsea Clinton’s wedding.
ABC News reports that the upcoming documents are a result of U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska’s ruling earlier this month that there was no legal justification for continuing to conceal the ex-president’s name and more than 150 names other “John and Jane Does” mentioned in the records. Preska ordered the unsealing to begin after Jan. 1.
“The documents stem from a 2015 civil lawsuit centered on allegations that Epstein’s one-time paramour, Ghislaine Maxwell, facilitated the sexual abuse of Virginia Giuffre, an alleged trafficking victim. Giuffre also accused Epstein and Maxwell of directing her to have sex with Prince Andrew and several other prominent men. Prince Andrew denied the allegations and claimed he could not recall ever meeting Giuffre. He later settled a lawsuit she filed against him” adds ABC News.
Majority of the names that will be unearthed are reported to already have been named in association in some way with Epstein; for allegations of wrongdoing, for having worked for Epstein, flown on his planes, or visited his homes. Some were mentioned during Maxwell’s criminal trial in 2021. In some instances, the only appearances of the names are in potential witness lists or in proposed terms for searches of electronic records.
