Author Ian Bremmer posted the list of Harvard student groups on X who signed a letter in support of Hamas, stating: “large number of harvard student organizations blaming israel solely for hamas terrorist attacks killing 700 civilians. Can’t imagine who would want to identify with such a group. Harvard parents – talk to your educated kids about this.”
Bremmer’s post sparked a phenomenal response by CEO Bill Ackman the hedge fund billionaire and founder of Pershing Square Capital Management, who reposted Bremmer’s message and added:
“I have been asked by a number of CEOs if @harvard would release a list of the members of each of the Harvard organizations that have issued the letter assigning sole responsibility for Hamas’ heinous acts to Israel, so as to insure that none of us inadvertently hire an of their members. If, in fact, their members support the letter they have released, the names of the signatories should be made public so their views are publicly known. One should not be able to hide behind a corporate shield when issuing statements supporting the actions of terrorists, who, we now learn, have beheaded babies, among other inconceivably despicable acts.”
Harvard is Ackman’s alma mater, and he is married to Israeli-born MIT professor Neri Oxman.
The student groups wrote in the pro-Hamas letter:
“We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence, the letter states, adding: “The apartheid regime is the only one to blame. Israeli violence has structured every aspect of Palestinian existence for 75 years.”
